Warm and
hearty greetings from the Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya. We hope
you had a wonderful Easter holiday. It is with much regrets that
President Lawrence Chan, tried but couldn't get his flight confirmed.
I have much
pleasure to inform that the Golden Child project was concluded
successfully. Those few days that we spent at A'Famosa Golf &
Country Club Resorts from the March 25, 2005 to March 27, 2005
was indeed meaningful and rewarding for those Rotarians who had
come forth to provide their assistance.
Most of the
children due to the nature of their illness, have been confined
in their homes for months and some even for many years by their
parents for fear that their exposure in the public may be detrimental
to their children's immune system. We can hardly imagine their
joy when their everyday routine is shuttle between home and hospital
only.
For most
of them, this was the first outing that they had ever experienced.
The touching moment of the Golden Child Project is the feedback
from the kids and their parents. Many expressed that this was
the happiest day of their lives. Parents were relieved and happy
to have found a support group among each other and all of them
were appreciative of what Rotary did for them. We were indeed
blessed to see the happiness outflow from their sadden faces,
unpretentious and in all sincererity. I think this is the most
gratifying moment for anyone to receive.
We are truly
honoured by your compassion and generosity. On behalf of the Rotary
Club of Petaling Jaya and the children, I would like to express
my utmost gratitude to the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island West,
IPP Joseph and Rtn Edward Chow for your financial assistance in
support of Golden Child Project. May I wish that the Almighty
would bless you abundantly. I attached herewith some of the photos
taken during the stays for your perusal.
Yours in
Rotary,
President
