The
5th Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition & Speech Competition
Preliminary
Essay Competition -- October 25, 2008 |

530 students
from 101 local secondary schools participated in the Preliminary
Essay Competition, which was held at the Heung To Secondary School
in Tseung Kwan O on October 25, 2008. Students who participated
in the Junior Section had to compose two 300-word essays in Chinese
and English within a period of 2 hours, while those of the Senior
Section had to compose two 500-word essays in Chinese and English
within the same period of time.

Anthony Fung of the School of Journalism and Communication, Chinese
University coducted a communications workshop for the semi-finalists
of the 5th
Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition & Speech Competition.

Jeff Ng gave a introduction about the project as well as introduced
the guest speakers for the Seminar on the Importance of Language
Skills to our Workforce. The guest speakers are our Club members,
Rtn. Michael Cheung and Rtn. Andy Kwok. Rtn. Michael is a solicitor,
while Rtn. Andy is a banker. |
