4th Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition & Speech Competition
Preliminary
Essay Competition -- October 20, 2007 |

478 students
from 85 local secondary schools participated in the Preliminary
Essay Competition on October 20, 2007. Students who participated
in the Junior Section had to compose two 300-word essays in Chinese
and English within a period of 2 hours, while those of the Senior
Section had to compose two 500-word essays in Chinese and English
within the same period of time.

Ringo Ma of the Department Head of Communication Studies, Baptist
University conducted a communication skills workshop for the semi-finalists
of the 4th
Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition & Speech Competition.

Tony Yue gave a introduction about the project as well as introduced
the guest speakers for the Seminar on the Importance of Language
Skills to our Workforce. The guest speakers are our Club members,
Rtn. Murphy Chan and Rtn. Norman Yeung. Rtn. Murphy is a private
banker, while Rtn. Norman is a solicitor and barrister. |
