The 3rd Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition & Speech Competition
Preliminary Essay Competition -- October 16, 2006

478 students from 85 local secondary schools participated in the Preliminary Essay Competition on October 16. Students who participated in the Junior Section had to compose two 300-word essays in Chinese and English within a period of 2 hours, while those of the Senior Section had to compose two 500-word essays in Chinese and English within the same period of time.

Communication Skills Workshop &
   Seminar on the Importance of Language Skills to our Workforce -- November 11, 2006

President Allen Au gave a introduction about the project as well as introduced the guest speakers for the Seminar on the Importance of Language Skills to our Workforce. The guest speakers are our Club members, Rtn. Felix Li and Rtn. Norman Yeung. Rtn. Felix is a specialist in Nephrology, while Rtn. Norman is a solicitor and barrister.
Rtn. Felix Li gave a talk on the importance of language skills to the medical profession in Hong Kong.
Rtn. Norman Yeung gave a talk on the importance of language skills to the law profession in Hong Kong.
Professor Annisa Lee, School of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese University conducted a communication skills workshop for the semi-finalists of the 3rd Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition & Speech Competition. President Allen Au presented our Club's flag and a souvenir to Professor Lee.
